About Safe Chimney Inc

An old chimney holds heat differently than the roof around it, and on the coldest mornings in Olympia's older neighborhoods, that difference shows up as a ring of melted, refrozen ice right at the flashing where Safe Chimney does its winter work. The crew clears walkways and entries at ground level first, then checks the roofline for the ice buildup that forms exactly where a warm chimney meets a cold roof deck, a spot that causes more leaks than people expect. Many of Olympia's older homes, wood-framed and decades past their original roofs, hold onto ice at the eaves longer than newer construction across town, since the insulation underneath was never built for it. Safe Chimney works those properties through the short cold season, clearing the path to the door and the ice at the chimney in the same visit.
