LBA Park's trails hold ice in the shaded stretches under the fir canopy long after the open ball fields have thawed, and the neighborhoods around it are where LeapFrog Landscaping starts most winter mornings, clearing the walk to the bus stop before clearing the driveway behind it. The crew works fast and in a set order, front path, front steps, driveway apron, because a family getting kids out the door at 7:30 doesn't have time to wait on a job that takes all day. Olympia doesn't get much snow most winters, but the ice that does show up tends to land on a Tuesday with no warning, and a driveway iced overnight off the Sound is just as slick whether snow came with it or not. LeapFrog treats every one of those mornings the same way, clearing the path first and leaving the rest of the yard for later, since the ice is usually gone on its own by afternoon.
