Path Man Services clears exactly that kind of ground — footbridges, sidewalks, the narrow paths between downtown buildings that a plow truck can't reach — while the wider excavation crews handle the roads. The river runs slow and dark against its snowy banks all winter, a fixed line through a town that otherwise goes quiet and white from the courthouse down to the county fairgrounds.
