The beach at Ocean Shores runs wide and flat enough that the kite festival crowds gather there every fall, and on the odd winter morning that same open stretch catches snow the wind piles into drifts nobody up at the north jetty ever expects. Sunny Landscape & Services works the residential streets back from the beach approach, clearing driveways before the wind has a chance to redraw what the plow already cleared. Out here the ground refreezes fast once the sun drops behind the dunes, so the crew salts a second time in the afternoon on top of the morning pass. It's a short season for snow on this stretch of coast, and this crew treats every one of those mornings like it might be the only one that winter.
