The Honest Arborist

About The Honest Arborist

Clover Valley Farm's fields hold frost long after the rest of Oak Harbor has burned it off, low ground catching the cold air that rolls down off the ridges on either side. The Honest Arborist clears the farm's gravel lanes and the driveways of the properties around it on the handful of mornings a winter that call for it, working between the cedar groves that keep half the valley in shadow until nearly ten. Snow lingers longest under those cedars, and the crew treats the icy patches at the base of each tree line before they turn to black ice by afternoon. It's a small, specific job on a small, specific stretch of the island, done early enough that the farm stand can open on schedule.
