BL Landscapes

About BL Landscapes

On a June evening in Oak Harbor the light comes in low across the bay, and the old windmill at Windjammer Park throws a long arm of shadow over the grass. That is the hour BL Landscapes likes best, when a lawn finished that afternoon is still holding its lines and the air smells of cut green and salt water. The work is unglamorous and exact: mow, edge, trim the fence line, sweep the drive, leave nothing behind but the shape of the yard. Grass grows generously on this island, so the rhythm is steady rather than heroic, week after week through the long growing season. What lasts is the look of a place that someone clearly minds.
