February on this coast is a slow gray rinse — mist off the water, cedar dripping, and a lawn that somehow keeps growing through all of it. Pacific Style Landscapes, Inc. works Mount Vernon and the roads out toward Anacortes in that season, doing the dormant-month jobs: pruning and shaping shrubs, clearing beds, tackling moss and thatch, hauling out the winter's fallen wood. Once the ground dries enough to hold a mower, mowing, edging and trimming take back over. Growing things here have a maritime temper — soft, green, never quite finished — and the work follows that lead. It is a fine place to keep lawns, so long as you don't mind rain.
