About Cornerstone Tree Services

In January the Skagit flats fill with snow geese and the fog stays down past noon, and the cottonwoods along the dikes stand up black out of it. Cornerstone Tree Services works Burlington in that flat winter light — dormant pruning while the shape of a tree is honest, removals in yards backed against the fields, deadwood taken out of the maples on the streets below Burlington Hill. River-bottom ground grows trees fast and soft, so a cottonwood that looked sound in August can be a problem by spring. When wind comes down the valley and puts one over, they cut it up, chip the brush and leave the ground raked behind them. By the time the tulip fields color up in April, nothing shows but grass and the long flat horizon.
