About Master Butler, Inc

Master Butler, Inc plans its winter mornings around the rail line that splits Monroe in two, clearing the lots and driveways on both sides of the tracks before the first commuter trains toward Everett fill up. It's a business built on showing up in the same order every time, and in the cold months that means starting before the platforms crowd, working street by street, blade down. The town's low, flat center makes for straightforward plowing compared to the farms further out, but wet valley snow packs just as hard on a paved lot as it does on a gravel lane. Master Butler treats each stop the same regardless of size — a business lot, a house on a corner, a driveway barely wide enough for one truck. Monroe runs on schedules, trains and buses and shift starts alike, and clearing the snow before those schedules begin is the whole job.
