Matt's Mobile Maintenance

About Matt's Mobile Maintenance

Martha Lake holds a particular stillness on a cold morning — flat gray water, a thin skin of frost along the shoreline path, houses backed up close along its curving cul-de-sacs. Matt's Mobile Maintenance moves through that quiet neighborhood by neighborhood, plowing one driveway and rolling straight to the next, the way mobile service work always has to. A short, snow-covered street near the lake goes from buried to bare in the time it takes to circle the block once, plow blade dropped and lifted at each driveway apron. There's a rhythm to it — engine idling, blade down, blade up, on to the next address — that turns a whole loop around Martha Lake into a morning's steady work. By the time commuters are backing out for the drive toward Lynnwood or Bothell, every driveway on the loop has already been plowed.
