About Willy's Property Service

Morning in Maple Valley arrives under a low marine ceiling, the Cedar River running cold and green past the trail while the firs hold their fog until nearly noon. Willy's Property Service works those wet early hours, when a mower lays a clean dark stripe across grass that has been drinking since October. There is real satisfaction in an edge cut straight along a Witte Road driveway, in the trimmed line where a lawn gives way to salal and alder shade. Yards here grow fast and grow long — the rain sees to that — so the work is mostly a matter of showing up steadily and leaving each place tidier than the weather intended. By the time the cloud lifts and Rainier shows itself over the foothills, the lawn is short, the edges are crisp, and the whole yard looks like it has finally exhaled.
