Swamp Creek runs low and brown along Lynnwood's eastern edge near I-405, and on the coldest nights it grows a skin of ice at the banks while the current underneath keeps moving. Environix works that same margin between wet and frozen, the driveways and lots near the creek corridor where runoff pools and refreezes overnight into the kind of ice that doesn't announce itself. The crew treats those low spots first, before first light, because a puddle nobody noticed the day before is exactly what turns dangerous once the temperature drops. Snow itself is a rare visitor here, but the freeze-thaw cycle off a creek bottom like this one is a near-yearly guest, and it asks for the same close attention every time it shows up. Watching the ice recede off a cleared lot by midday, with the creek still running dark and steady below it, is as close as this work gets to proof the plan worked.
