Willapa Tree Service

About Willapa Tree Service

West of Longview, the land starts folding up into the Willapa Hills, the low, wet range that gave Willapa Tree Service its name and keeps its crews working logging roads and rural driveways cut into second-growth timber. Snow sits heavier and longer up in those hills than it does down in the river valley, and a cold snap can leave a gravel road impassable under branches and drift both at once. The crew takes the wood down first — whatever alder or fir gave way under the weight — then blades the road itself, working outward from the valley floor toward the ridgelines one driveway at a time. It is slow going up there, but it is the only way in or out for the families who live back in those hills.
