Riley’s lawn care

About Riley’s lawn care

There is one Saturday in March when the mowers all come out at once and the whole town smells like cut grass again, from the lawns around R. A. Long Park down to the small yards off Commerce Avenue. Riley's lawn care lives for that morning. The first cut of the year is the hardest and the most rewarding: heavy wet growth, a slow pass, then the edges opened back up along the walk and the drive, and a lawn that suddenly looks like someone lives there. After that it is rhythm, week over week, mowing and trimming and hauling off the clippings. Longview stays green a long time, and Riley's stays with it.
