About Diversified Mechanical Solutions

The mill whistle still marks shift change down along the Columbia, the way it has since Long-Bell laid this town out around its lumber works, and Diversified Mechanical Solutions spends most of its year keeping the gears and boilers behind that whistle running true. Winter calls for a different kind of precision. Trucks get fitted with blades instead of tools and sent out at four in the morning to clear the mill's access roads and employee lots before the first shift clocks in. The same attention that keeps a conveyor running square goes into a plowed lane — straight edges, no missed corners, salt down ahead of the next freeze. It is quiet, early work, done and gone before most of Longview has poured its coffee.
