Champ's Tree Service

About Champ's Tree Service

Up in the Highlands, where Longview's streets climb steep enough to need a low gear, the Douglas firs lean close over the pavement and hold their snow load long after the flats below have gone back to bare road. Champ's Tree Service knows those limbs by weight — which ones bow and crack under a wet inch, which ones just need watching through the freeze. The same crew that drops hazard branches in the middle of summer heads up the grade before light on a snow morning, blade down on the switchbacks, chainsaw riding along in case a limb gave way overnight. Driveways get cleared first, then whatever wood came down with them, until the hillside is passable corner to corner. The firs stand a little lighter for it, snow shaken loose along with the deadwood.
