On a July evening the light goes flat and gold across Lake Tapps, the last boats idling in, Mount Rainier turning rose above the far shore. Mighty Mow cuts grass on those shoreline lots and the streets behind them, where a lawn runs down toward the water and everyone can see exactly where the mowing stopped. Mowing, edging, trimming, and clearing the cuttings away — a yard handed back tight enough to walk barefoot across before dinner. Puget Sound summers here go dry and bright, so a lawn is asking for something different in August than it was in April, and the schedule bends to match. It is plain, satisfying work: come, cut, sweep, leave the place looking like someone loves it.
