Lawn Envy

About Lawn Envy

By the middle of August, Lacey has usually gone six or seven weeks without real rain, and the lawns around Pattison Lake show it — gold at the margins, green only where the sprinklers reach. Lawn Envy works that hard stretch, mowing high, edging clean, trimming close along the fence lines and clearing the yard of the summer's litter. Cutting a stressed lawn is a different job from cutting a lush one, and knowing the difference is most of the skill. Then the first September storm comes off the Sound and the color floods back almost overnight. Being the one who held the yard in shape through the dry weeks, so it can green up all at once, is a quiet kind of pride.
