September at Heritage Park is the year's kindest stretch — warm light, cool mornings, the lake still holding summer while the maples start to think it over. Romo Landscaping runs its long autumn rounds through the streets behind that shoreline: mowing while the grass is still generous, edging, trimming, then leaf work as the weeks turn and the piles get serious. Everything goes out with the truck; nothing is left to mat down over the lawn once the rain sets in. Fall here does not end so much as fade, one damp week after another, and the yards given steady attention come out of winter in shape. There is a good tiredness at the close of an autumn day spent that way.
