November wind pushes up Hales Passage and under the Fox Island bridge, and it takes the maple and alder leaves off in a single afternoon, straight onto the lawns. Yardvark Services chases that down — leaf removal, a late mow while the ground can still carry a machine, trimming the ragged corners, blowing decks and driveways clear. Wet leaves left in place will print themselves onto turf by January, so timing matters more than effort. Handled early, the grass goes into the dark months clean and comes out of them evenly green. There is a real pleasure in the last sweep of the blower and a yard with nothing left on it.
