About Mateo Lawn Care & Landscaping

The Rosedale back roads are still wet at seven, alder branches dripping over the shoulder, when the trailer ramp comes down on the first yard of the day. Mateo Lawn Care & Landscaping runs its Artondale routes that way — one lawn after another, mowed, trimmed, edged, blown clean, and on to the next. Familiarity is half the craft: knowing which yard holds water at the low end, which strip browns first in August, which fence line has to be done by hand. By afternoon the truck smells like cut grass and the day's lawns are all standing even. It is a good way to move through a place.
