About Fresh Start Property Co.

The first mow of the year is a kind of announcement. Down toward Jackson Beach the grass comes on early, fed by mild wet Februaries, and by March it is already ahead of everybody, which is when the season truly opens on San Juan Island. Fresh Start Property Co. takes a yard gone shaggy over the wet months and gives it back its shape: cut, trimmed, edged, the winter litter raked out and carried away. There is real pleasure in the before and after of it, the moment a lawn stops looking abandoned and starts looking looked after. From there it is a matter of keeping the rhythm, week by week, through the long bright island summer.
