In June the light out here holds until nearly ten, the last ferry pulling for Anderson Island off the Steilacoom bluff while there is still color in the sky. Whitworth Boys Lawn Care takes those long evenings, mowing after the heat has gone out of the day and the grass has stiffened back up. Edges get a clean pass, trimmer work goes around mailboxes and play sets and the awkward strip by the curb, and the clippings go with them. There is a certain pride in leaving a street of finished yards behind you as the light fails. Fort Lewis and the towns along the water deserve lawns that look like somebody stayed to finish the job.
