In north Everett, the old houses along the bluff look west over Port Gardner Bay toward Jetty Island and the Olympics beyond, and their yards have framed that view for more than a hundred years. Felix's Landscape does the shaping and upkeep that lets a lot like that hold its own: beds laid out, shrubs trimmed back from porches, lawns mowed and edged in clean lines. Everett's mild, wet climate grows everything with enthusiasm, so landscaping here is as much about restraint as planting. On a late-August afternoon, with sailboats tacking off the marina and the light going honey-colored over the water, a well-planned garden makes a house feel like part of the city's oldest chapter.
