About RPM

Interstate 90 cuts along the north edge of the Kittitas Valley, and the wind that funnels through the gap west of Ellensburg doesn't stop at the highway shoulder — it carries loose snow straight across the frontage roads and into the lots and driveways below. RPM plows that lower ground, the properties tucked along the frontage roads and side streets where blown snow collects faster than it falls. A storm here often does more work sideways than down, packing drifts against fence lines and garage doors while the open sky overhead stays deceptively clear. The crew runs its routes in a fixed order, driveway to lot to driveway, timed to beat the next gust before it undoes the last pass. It's practical, repeatable work in a valley where the wind is as much a factor as the snow itself.
