About Washington Tree Services Inc

Edmonds keeps a wide range of trees for a town its size — cedar and fir on the inland blocks, madrona clinging to the bluff itself, big-leaf maple filling in wherever there's room — and Washington Tree Services Inc ends up working all of it, block by block, depending on what a given storm brings down. After an actual snow event, most calls come in about weight rather than wind: a cedar bough sagging low enough to block a driveway, a maple limb resting across a walkway under its own wet load. The crew works those calls into the evening if it has to, headlamps picking out which branches are still bending and which have already let go. Clearing the debris off a driveway or path always comes with a shovel pass right after, since the ground underneath tends to be wetter and more prone to refreezing than ground that was never covered by a fallen limb in the first place. Streets on the bluff side of town lose branches first, exposed as they are to wind straight off the water. By the time full dark closes over Puget Sound, most of the day's blocked driveways are open again.
