About Lumberjacks Tree Service & Excavation

Several ravines cut straight down through Edmonds on their way to the Sound, carrying creeks that most people only notice from a bridge on their way somewhere else, and Lumberjacks Tree Service & Excavation spends plenty of its year working the steep lots that back onto those same drainages. Snow behaves oddly in a ravine — it can pile deep in the cold air pooled at the bottom while the rim above stays nearly bare — so the crew treats ravine-edge driveways and the excavation access roads down into those gullies as their own separate problem from the flatter streets nearby. Getting equipment safely down to a job at the bottom of a ravine access road matters as much on a snow day as any customer's driveway does, so those routes get cleared first, before the trucks try the grade. Dusk comes early down in a ravine, the light gone from the creek bottom while the street above still holds some color, so the crew tries to finish that low ground before the light disappears entirely. Excavation work itself waits out a snow day; the shovels and plow blades come first. By full dark, the access roads are open and the equipment can move again in the morning.
