Lake Stickney is small enough that most people outside it only know the little lake tucked behind the houses off the highway corridor near Everett, ringed by fir trees big enough to do real damage when they come apart. A heavy snow bends the younger alders flat and cracks the tops out of the taller firs, and more than a few of those limbs end up across a driveway or one of the narrow streets looping the neighborhood. Tree Ninjas climbs and cuts whatever needs to come down, then clears the driveway or walkway underneath so nobody's stepping over broken branches on the way to the car. It's neighborhood-scale work, one cul-de-sac at a time, sized to whatever a given storm actually knocked loose rather than a fixed route. By the time the ice has melted off whatever's still standing, Lake Stickney's quiet streets are down to just what the storm took.
