About BCD Contracting & Tree Service

By October the orchards above Lake Chelan go yellow and the water turns a blue so deep it looks borrowed from somewhere else. BCD Contracting & Tree Service works the benches and the town below them — removing a poplar that has outgrown its row, pruning shade trees in the yards along the Chelan River, trimming back what leans over a driveway on the climb toward Chelan Butte. These dry hills grow tough wood, and a tree that has spent thirty years hunting water comes down heavier than it looks. When a summer downdraft drops off the ridges and lays a limb across a lane, the cleanup is cutting, chipping and carting until nothing remains but the smell of it. Then the light goes long over the water and the ground is bare where the mess had been.
