About Two Brothers Landscaping

By late August the light comes in sideways off the water at Seahurst Park, and the lawns up on the bluff have gone the color of dry wheat where the sun found them. That is the season Two Brothers Landscaping reads most closely — mowing a little higher, trimming close along fence lines and driveway seams, watching which side of the yard the shade protects. Vashon sits low and blue across the channel, the ferries go about their business, and the mowers work their way through the long evening. Grass in Burien has two lives, the lush one and the thirsty one, and the craft is knowing which one you are standing in. What is left behind is honest and plain: an even cut, a swept curb, a yard that looks like somebody cared enough to finish it.
