Sno King Stump Grinding

About Sno King Stump Grinding

Long before Bothell was streets and rooflines, loggers were clearing the valley's fir and cedar back in the 1870s, and the stump fields those first cuts left behind still surface in yards all over town when someone digs a new bed or pours a new patio. Sno King Stump Grinding spends most of the year grinding those old stumps down, but come a hard freeze, the crew works snow and ice off driveways and walkways with the same steady patience. There's a fitting irony in a name built around snow doing its heaviest work on the rare days Bothell actually gets some, clearing paths so a household isn't stuck behind a hundred-year-old stump and a foot of white on top of it. The crew hauls what it clears, whether that's a grindout pile or a morning's worth of plowed snow, and leaves a yard looking like winter never touched it. It's plain, physical work, done close to the ground the whole way through. Once the ice lets go on its own, this crew has already moved on to the next driveway on the list.
