Out on the flats between Bellingham and Ferndale, new ground begins as bare dirt and a lot of intention. Custom Dirt & Hydroseed handles the part in between — grading and soil prep, topsoil spread and raked smooth, then hydroseed sprayed green across a whole slope in a single afternoon. Two weeks later there is a haze of new grass where there was only mud, and by the end of the season it is a lawn you can mow. Rain is the one thing Whatcom County can be counted on for, and fresh seed takes to it. The work runs around Bellingham, Ferndale, Custer and Lynden.
