About A.C. Moate Industries, Inc.

South of Auburn Way, past the rail spurs, the valley flattens into loading docks and long steel-sided warehouses that never fully close — Auburn's other landscape, built for freight instead of farms. A.C. Moate Industries works that industrial stretch, clearing dock aprons and yard lanes before the first trucks queue at first light. Frost here behaves differently than it does in the neighborhoods a mile away: it clings to concrete and steel long after residential streets have thawed, so the plows go out early and stay until the last apron is scraped clean. Forklift drivers and dispatchers count on bare pavement here the same way growers once counted on dry ground in this same low valley. When the shift change comes and the lot lights click off, the tire tracks left behind are the only sign anyone was there before dawn.
