About O'Brien Lawn & Home Services

Ahtanum sits where the creek of the same name comes down out of the ridge and spreads into orchard country. The light here is enormous — dry, gold, unhurried — and a lawn under it asks for a steady hand more than a clever one. O'Brien Lawn & Home Services keeps grass mown, edged and trimmed on properties between the ditch banks and the sagebrush hills, week after week through the long Yakima Valley summer. The point of the whole thing is the moment a yard comes back into shape: the edge crisp along the walk, the clippings cleared, the place looking cared for from the road. Autumn brings its own work as the valley cools and the leaves let go, and the cleanups carry the season out. Ordinary work — and this is a place that rewards it.
