About Kramer Tree Service LLC

There is an hour in late summer when the fog burns off the Chehalis and the hill above Sam Benn Park goes gold clear to the tops of the firs. Kramer Tree Service LLC spends that season getting the town ready for the other one — thinning crowded second growth, removing a maple whose union has split, raising limbs off a garage on one of the steep streets. Pruning on a slope is its own puzzle: the ground falls away, the rope has to be right, and the finished tree should look like nothing ever happened to it. When winter storms come up the harbor and drop wood across the pavement, they clear it and carry the wood off. Nothing about the result is loud — a low stump, a clean walk, a house with room to breathe.
