Woodbury is built on granite and hills, and every winter reminds the town of both — a north wind coming off Sabin Pond and driveways that climb ledge the whole way to the house. Central Vermont Construction handles snow removal on those grades: plowing, cutting the banks back as the season stacks up, opening turnarounds, and clearing the walk to the door. Weather tends to come over the ridge in the late afternoon and dig in for the night, which is when the rounds begin along Route 14 and the dirt roads that leave it. Circling back at first light to find a drive still clean is the good part of the job. Nobody living up these hills should have to wonder whether they can get out.
