About Wimmelman & Sons Logging and Tree Service LLC

Harriman fills the valley below Whitingham, miles of shoreline held in hardwood hills, and the logging roads climb away from the water in every direction. Wimmelman & Sons Logging and Tree Service LLC works those grades — the pitch a truck can hold, the one spot on a hillside where a big hemlock has room to fall. They take out trees gone hollow, trim back the growth crowding a camp road above Sadawga, and prune the yard maples in Jacksonville village so they keep their shape another decade. Storms cross the ridge from the west and leave the town rearranged; they work road by road until the ways are passable and the wood is stacked out of the road's reach. By evening a place looks unhurried again, which is a hard thing to give back to a hillside.
