About Quackenbush Lawn Care Inc

A lawn in Weston takes its shape from the land under it — a slope leaning toward the West River, a wall of Green Mountain woods standing at the back fence — and there is real pleasure in mowing one so the lines follow that grade instead of fighting it. Quackenbush Lawn Care Inc keeps residential yards in the village and the hill towns along Route 100 cut through the green months, then returns in spring and fall for the clean-up work: the wet mat of maple leaf lifted off the grass, winter's grit raked out of the beds, the yard handed back to its season. Come December the job changes shape but not its logic — snowplowing and shoveling done before the village is properly awake, sanding where a driveway pitches down to the road, roof raking when the eaves begin carrying more than eaves should. It is plain, physical work, and it shows: a drive you can back out of on a dark morning, a lawn that reads as cared for from clear across the green.
