E&S Landworks keeps its boots in the gravel of the Winooski valley, where Waterbury's brick mill blocks give way fast to dirt roads climbing toward the ridgelines. The work is land work in the plainest sense: driveways rebuilt, graded, and drained so the runoff finally goes where it ought to, overgrown edges taken back by forestry mulching and brush removal, light excavation and clearing that opens a crowded treeline into a yard with room to breathe. Come winter, those same drives get pushed clean, and there is a real satisfaction in a lane cut open up the hill while the valley below is still blue with early morning. Washington and Lamoille County ground — Waterbury, Waterbury Center, Stowe, and the back roads between them — held in good shape, one turn of the season to the next.
