The Mad River gives this valley its name and most of its weather, running fast under Route 100 with the Green Mountains on one side and the Northfield ridge on the other. Mad River Property Management keeps the ground in order all year — mowing, trimming and seasonal cleanups while the valley is green, then plowing, shoveling and sanding once it isn't. Snow stacks deep between those two ridges, and a driveway off a steep valley road usually needs opening more than once before a storm is finished. In June those same properties want a crisp cut and a clean line along the pavement. Seeing a place look tended in every month of the calendar is the reason to do both halves.
