About SJ Landworks

First light comes late to the Otter Creek valley — mist still lifting off the falls at Vergennes, the sun climbing over the Greens before it spills west across the clay plain toward the lake. SJ Landworks works that ground as an excavation and land management outfit: foundations, utility runs, driveway and road installs and maintenance, land clearing, and plowing when the valley goes white. There is a plain, physical satisfaction in the results — a road crowned so it sheds water, a pad squared true to its corners, a drive opened before the first truck of the morning rolls out. Ground that has been shaped well holds its shape, and the fields and mill-town streets around Vergennes and Ferrisburgh keep the proof of it in the open.
