The roads out of Sharon climb Dairy Hill quickly, and in a February squall the top of the hill can be in full weather while the White River valley below sits clear. Dovetail Landworks plows that country — driveways opened their whole length, turnarounds widened, walkways and steps cleared, sand laid where the pitch turns treacherous. Long hill drives are the local specialty and the local problem; they take more passes and better placement of every pile. Wind fills a cut lane back in overnight, so the route runs again at first light. Coming down off the hill at dawn past drives already open is the reason to be out there.
