About Ferncroft Property Service

Stone walls climb the apple hills of Shaftsbury and disappear into the trees, marking out fields cleared by hand long before anyone owned a mower. Ferncroft Property Service tends what came after — grass cut and trimmed through the growing season, edges shaped, spring and fall cleanups hauled away, and then plowing, shoveling and sanding once the hills go white. The Taconic shadow falls early on the west-facing slopes, so ice sets up there while the valley is still merely wet. Mowing on those grades takes a careful line and an unhurried hand. Work up here reads from a distance: a trimmed yard, a plowed lane, a house that looks looked-after.
