Sylvesters Rubbish Removal

About Sylvesters Rubbish Removal

January in Richford is mostly dark. The river runs black under its ice, the border road empties out, and snow comes in over the hills with nobody watching. Sylvesters Rubbish Removal plows through it — driveways, dooryards, the wide turnarounds behind buildings — and shovels the walks and steps by hand where a machine can't reach. Sand goes down on the icy pitches, and the banks get pushed back so the next storm has somewhere to land. Come morning the drive is open, the door is reachable, and the day can start on time.
