On a Saturday morning the old green at East Poultney is about as quiet as Vermont gets — white clapboard, a steeple, and the sound of one mower somewhere down the hill. Levi Allen Lawn Care makes a fair amount of that sound between May and October, mowing, trimming and edging yards around Poultney village and the roads that thread out from it.
