Green-Scapes Land Works

About Green-Scapes Land Works

Up on Orange Heights the road opens and the White Mountains stand blue on the far edge of the morning. Orange is that kind of town: dirt roads, hill pasture, houses set wherever somebody once liked the view. Green-Scapes Land Works mows the yards carved out of that hillside, trimming around ledge, apple trees and the odd granite outcrop a mower has to respect. Spring here means dragging winter sand and broken branch out of the grass; fall means getting the leaves off before the ground goes hard. The work is plain and so is the payoff — a hill yard that looks tended, with a horizon like that behind it.
