Mount Holly keeps its own calendar. Up here on the height of land, where the old rail line climbed to its summit at Healdville, snow lingers in the north-facing hollows long after the valleys have gone green — and when the season finally turns, it turns all at once. Mountain View Earthworks works that short bright window hard: lawns mown into clean bands, beds edged sharp against the hill's own stone, the smell of hay rising off the cut. There is a particular satisfaction in a mountainside yard held level and trim while the ridgelines run wild all around it. Evening comes early to these hollows, cold air sliding down the slopes, and the day's work stands there in the last light, tidy and green.
