United Ag & Turf

About United Ag & Turf

In late October, when the maples along Otter Creek go to copper and the first hard frost lies white across the dairy fields of Addison County, the working machines of the valley come down Route 7 to this John Deere shop in Middlebury — tractors, mowers, Gators and compact construction equipment wanting a part, a tune, a plow hung before the mountains send their first real storm. United Ag & Turf sells new and inspected used equipment, stocks original John Deere parts and attachments, carries Western snowplows along with Stihl, Honda, Ariens and Frontier gear, and keeps precision ag technology running for farms that measure their year in rows. The service goes both directions: routine maintenance plans in the shop bays, and onsite repairs out where a machine actually quit — mid-hayfield, or at the ragged edge of a half-finished driveway. There is a plain, physical satisfaction in the result of it: a deck that lays a crisp line across a lawn under the Green Mountains, a blade that opens a farm road before daylight, a season held. That work spreads out from the counter here to dairy farmers, landscapers, builders, town crews and homeowners throughout the county.
