About Bernie La Rock & Son Inc

The roads around Guilford Center are dirt for most of their length, and in winter dirt freezes into something that asks for a plow driver's judgment: cut too deep and you bring up gravel, too shallow and you have left a skating rink. Bernie La Rock & Son Inc runs those back roads and the driveways off them, plowing to an even surface and spreading sand where the pitch demands it. Storms coming up from the south reach this corner of Windham County first, so the day often begins hours before the county wakes. Walkways get opened, turnarounds get widened, and the banks get pushed well back so the next storm has somewhere to go. It is steady work on ground that rewards knowing it by feel.
