About Greater Heights Tree And Land Management Inc.

Bennington lies where the Walloomsac cuts its valley between the Taconic hills and the long green wall of the mountains east of town, and on that ground the woods grow back faster than anyone can keep up with them. Greater Heights Tree and Land Management works up in that canopy and down in the brush below it — tree removal and felling, pruning and crown reduction, stump grinding, forestry mulching, field reclamation, utility line clearing, tree planting and health care, and storm work at whatever hour the wind decides to come through the gap. There is a plain satisfaction in a big maple brought down clean beside a house that barely felt it, in an old hayfield pulled back out of the sumac and returned to open ground, in a drive cleared wide while the valley is still blue-dark. Winter turns the same trucks onto the same back roads for snow removal, from Bennington up to Manchester and out across the tri-state corner. What the crew leaves behind is a place that can breathe again: light down on the grass, a ridge line you can actually see, ground that holds its shape into the next season.
